List of tragedies and conspiracies related to Fazbear Entertainment
The Death of Charlotte Emily
On October 31st of 1983, Charlotte Emily, daughter of Fazbear Entertainment cofounder, was found dead outside of Fredbear's Family Diner. An extensive investigation followed, and no significant identifying evidence for a killer was found. It was noted that the restaurant's Security Puppet animatronic was also found at the scene, deactivated and cradling the victim's body. It is believed by some that Charlotte's death was caused by malfunctioning technology. Following the incident, there have been many customer reports of odd behavior displayed by the Puppet animatronic, which some argue lends credence to this theory.
This tragic loss would later serve as a major motivating factor in Henry Emily's departure from Fazbear Entertainment.
The Missing Children Incident
On June 26th, 1985, five children were reported missing at a Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location. The children are thought to have been lured to a back room by an employee and murdered, but the victims' bodies have not been found. The identities of the missing children are as follows:
After further investigation, two of the five were reportedly spotted on the restaurant's camera feed. The first, Susie Collins, appeared to have been lured to a back room by an employee wearing a mascot costume resembling the Spring Bonnie character. The second, Cassidy Brooks, was seen running through the building, eventually into the aforementioned back room. Neither were ever seen exiting the room. The restaurant's security system was allegedly experiencing technical difficulties at the time, resulting in the majority of the security footage being lost. This has sparked many to speculate that the killer, or a co-conspirator, intentionally tampered with the footage in order to destroy incriminating evidence. However, reports from the employees indicate that the cameras had already been experiencing frequent issues in the weeks leading up to the incident, including excessive static and distorted imagery.
The primary suspects are as follows:
As the co-owner of Fazbear Entertainment, William Afton had a strong presence at the pizzeria. He reportedly spent much of his time interacting with the children, and was known to wear the Spring Bonnie suit often.
Callahan was considered mainly due to his advanced knowledge of the Springlock Animatronics, including the suit involved in the incident. He allegedly had a personal connection to Cassidy Brooks, one of the victims.
Emily was a cofounder of Fazbear Entertainment, but had begun distancing himself from the company shorty after the loss of his daughter in 1983. Some speculate that his grief may have driven him to murder.
Due to a lack of evidence, none of the suspects could be charged. The identity of the killer and location of the childrens' bodies remain unknown.
Missing and Injured Persons
After the reopening of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in 1987, the restaurant would go on to receive heavy criticism and accusations regarding unethical treatment of employees. Often cited is the large number of missing person reports filed by Fazbear Entertainment.
The following is a list of missing persons associated with the company.
Additionally, the following is a list of known serious injuries and deaths.
The Burning of Fazbear's Fright
Fazbear's Fright was a horror attraction opened in October of 2015, inspired by the rumors and legends surrounding Freddy's Fazbear's Pizza. The attraction was praised for its nostalgic yet disorienting atmosphere and lifelike animatronic props, allegedly leaving many guests with intense feelings of dread and longing.
It was only open for a few short weeks before burning down due to a technical failure on October 31st of the same year, resulting in the death of Fazbear Entertainment cofounder Henry Emily. News of the fire fed into the popular discourse surrounding the brand, leading to suspicion of foul play. However, no evidence of premeditated arson could be found. Rather, inspections indicated that the fire was more likely sparked by faulty wiring, and sustained by the building's oddly designed ventilation system. This event was considered a great loss by many collectors, as it resulted in the permanent destruction of many valuable relics from the original locations.
Miscellaneous Rumors and Reports
The tragedies associated with the Fazbear Entertainment brand have resulted in the development of rumors, myths, and urban legends surrounding the company and its animatronics. Likely as a result of these rumors, there have been many strange sightings reported at or near locations throughout the company's history.
Strange Apparitions
There have been many independent reports of abnormal optical phenomena in both Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and Fredbear's Family Diner. Customers describe seeing objects, animatronics, and shadows which are not actually present. Many have also described feeling disoriented, having a sense that the posters and drawings hanging on the walls change with each glance. One parent even reported several doors leading to the wrong rooms, as though the geometry of the building were inconsistent.
These reports sparked an investigation of possible foodborne illnesses tied to the restaurant's food, leading to the discovery of several health code violations. This, alongside the busy atmosphere and abundance of dynamic and disorienting party lights, is thought to be responsible for the reports. Despite this, there are still widespread myths of "spiritual corruption", or the building being "haunted".
The Lost Sister Location
Circus Baby's Pizza World was an intended sister location to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and a personal project of William Afton's, using special technology developed by Afton Robotics. The restaurant was highly advertised, and according to surveys, there was a lot of excitement surrounding its opening. However, the project was cancelled the day before its launch in 1986, reportedly due to gas leaks. Many have noted that this event coincides with the disappearance of several local children, listed below.
The coincidental alignment of these disappearances with the cancellation of Circus Baby's has resulted in the popularization of several myths and conspiracy theories. It is speculated wildly that the location was cancelled due to the animatronic mascots "gaining sentience" and kidnapping children. Others have connected this event to the Missing Children Incident, claiming that Fazbear Entertainment was intentionally developing animatronics to kidnap children for the purposes of religious sacrifice. Critics of these theories have pointed out that, although the company has a history of negligence, the development of functional killer animatronics is far beyond their capability, and would be a hilariously inefficient method of kidnapping.
Freddy & Friends Unaired Episode
In 1988, an unaired episode of the Freddy & Friends animated series was lost due to an unknown error. This lost episode would eventually serve as the subject of the online creepypasta Chica's Chicken Dinner. The story involves a young boy discovering and watching the lost episode in his grandfather's attic, finding that the episode tells the story of the Chica character's increasingly cannibalistic tendencies. This story gained some popularity for its cheesy plot direction and poor writing quality, becoming a common subject of ridicule online.
Stolen Animatronic Parts
In July of 1995, nearly two years after Freddy's pizzeria had been abandoned, it was discovered that the internal skeletons of the animatronic performers had been stolen. The thief had allegedly left the characters' furry shells laying about the dining area of the building (which would later be used in the Fazbear's Fright attraction). This discovery spawned many theories regarding the intentions of the thief, as well as the current location of the animatronic characters. It is often noted that this event closely aligns with the disappearance of William Afton.
