GC: helloooooooooo
AA: Hi.
GC: ada said you had a download for me?
AA: I do.
AA: One moment.
GC: one moment in progress!!
AA: I sent it to you.
GC: okay cool
GC: so what is this game?? ada's explanation was kinda babbly and inscrutable
AA: It's a sort of cooperative Sims-like, with heavy exploratory RPG elements.
AA: The multiplayer is asymmetric. The client player gets the main gameplay, which has RPG elements, and the server player uses the Sims-like gameplay to manipulate the client's environment. We'll form a chain of client-server pairs.
GC: okay
GC: that isnt very complicated actually
AA: It may or may not also be a horror game, with dead grandmas and hyperrealism and such.
GC: i see
GC: good horror, you think?
AA: If you enjoy creepypasta cliches.
GC: hehe yeah
GC: its interesting because i think some of the best things are horror! like, you know...
AA: Yes, I know.
GC: but then, most horror is bad!!
GC: i like some horror things because the horror elements are interesting in some way, and because horror promotes mystery i guess. i dont want to actually be scared!
AA: I think the way you engage with the horror genre is different from most.
AA: Most people want to be scared.
AA: That's the point, sort of.
GC: dumb!!!!
AA: Maybe.
AA: There's a thrill to it, I think.
GC: only not-scary horror is good
GC: i only like the genre when its defining trait is absent :P
AA: Okay.
AA: I probably agree with you.
AA: Though you should consider that most media in a given genre will be bad in general, horror or no. It might be discriminatory to claim that horror specifically has the problem of being mostly bad.
GC: sturgeons law you mean
AA: Yes.
GC: yeah
GC: i probably agree with you!
GC: ^_^
AA: [_][_]
AA: ^ Equivalent expression
GC: lol!
AA: Anyway, you've reminded me of the situation at hand.
AA: It is a situation which I should probably address.
AA: In the meantime, I recommend that you install the game sooner rather than later, to avoid any need for thrilling last-second maneuvers and/or ex machina.
GC: okay
GC: ill try not to set up any exciting action climaxes!
GC: that would be such a waste of time
AA: Thank you, I'm glad we agree on this.
